ACADEMY OF TRADITIONAL JAPANESE MARTIAL ARTS (A.T.J.M.A.) is an organization formed by an elite group of members, with an object to promote the art of Karate , Judo and other self-defence arts in the field of sports. Academy of Traditional Japanese
Martial Arts (A.T.J.M.A.) was started in the year 1991 by the founder member Sensei
Jehangir Shroff – 5th Dan Black Belt , with very few students. In the year
1997 a group of members joined hands with Sensei Jehangir Shroff in forming the
complete organization .

Shroff has been in the field of Martial Arts since the year 1978 under
the following teachers : Sensei Jehangir Shroff started his karate career in the year 1978 under Shihan Vispy Kapadia – 7th Dan Black Belt. He got his Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt) in the year 1983 and Nidan (2nd Dan Black Belt) in the year 1986 under Gojukai Karate-Do Gojukan India. In the year 1991, A.T.J.M.A. under Sensei Jehangir Shroff got affiliated to International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Shobukan India under Sensei Hoshi Batliwalla – 6th Dan Black Belt , Chief Instructor - I.O.G.K.S. Sensei Shroff got his Sandan (3rd Dan Black Belt) from All India Karate-Do Federation & International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Shobukan India. In the year Oct. 1997 , A.T.J.M.A. under Sensei Jehangir Shroff got affiliated to Yudansha Kobujitsu Karate-Doh Federation (International) under the guidance of Ron Yamanaka – 9th Dan Menkyo Kaiden Saiko Shihan – Founder of Y.K.K.F. (International) , which is having affiliations with more than 22 countries in the world . Sensei Shroff was graded Godan (5th Dan Black Belt) in Canada and was made the Indian President for Y.K.K.F.(International) by Shihan Ron Yamanaka. In the year 1998 , Sensei Jehangir Shroff , also started JUDO / JUJITSU under the guidance of Sensei Manohar Bangera – 7th Dan Black Belt & Sensei Yatish Bangera – 6th Dan Black Belt , Directors of Bombay Judo Club. A.T.J.M.A. / Y.K.K.F.(India) is a member of Maharashtra Karate Association (MKA) and is affiliated to All India Karate-Do Federation (A.I.K.F.) which is recognised by Govt. of India & Indian Olympic Association (IOA). Presently A.T.J.M.A. / YKKF (India) is having more than 15 Institutions / Schools in Mumbai and also in Khandala , Hyderabad & Secunderabad , numbering over 3000 students imparting training in Karate, Judo & Jujitsu. Karate training is also imparted to the orphan girls of THE BOMBAY VIGILANCE ASSOCIATION ("Balikashram"), Dadar - CR and boys of Athornan Madressa, Parsi Colony, Dadar (E) , absolutely free of cost
A landmark in the history of the organization was the Martial Arts Training Programme organized in Mumbai from Feb. 28 to March 1 , 2004 where Shihan Giovanni Di Meglio – 7th Dan Black Belt – YKKF World President & Sensei Diego Gruer – 3rd Dan Black Belt – Technical Director YKKF (Italy) , conducted the training programme , which was a resounding success. Shri Prataprao Dighavkar , DCP –Zone IV was the Chief Guest. It is our honour to state that A.T.J.M.A. / YKKF (India) under the guidance of Sensei Jehangir Shroff had organised a Martial Arts Training Programme, the only first and one of its kind in India where International Masters of highest rank and repute had imparted training in KARATE, JUJUTSU, AIKI JUJITSU, SHAOLIN KUNG FU & KOBUDO wherein all the 22 affiliated countries in the world had participated in this event, which was held at The Residence, Hotel & Convention Centre, Powai, Mumbai from Feb.3 to 5, 2006. More than 10 International Masters along with their 50 students plus 500 Indian students had participated in this symposium. Y.K.K.F.(India) will also be participating at the YKKF 2007 International Gasshuku & Symposium & also take part in World Championship which will be held from May 24 to May 27, 2007 at Barrie, Ontario (Canada). A.T.J.M.A. / Y.K.K.F.(India) is presently conducting classes in Karate, Judo / Jujitsu, Tai Chi Chuan & Kick Boxing. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Y.K.K.F. is a fraternal organization of many arts and styles recognizing the intrinsic worth and value of every system. Martial arts are founded upon universal principles of MOVEMENT , MORALITY & ETIQUETTE. It is in the spirit of Budo (Martial ways) that all schools of Y.K.K.F. work in harmony with each other for their mutual advancement and the discovery of the meaning and the ultimate purpose of budo. The Y.K.K.F. - WORLD PRESIDENT is GIOVANNI DI MEGLIO SHIHAN , 7th DAN KYOSHI , Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate-Do & Ju-jitsu, RON YAMANAKAS direct student. He has been living in the world of martial arts for 35 years teaching and learning in many dojos all over the world. SENSEI JEHANGIR SHROFF is the President & Chief Instructor for Y.K.K.F.(INDIA) and is the only Indian representative for Y.K.K.F.(INTERNATIONAL). He has been in the field of martial arts for over 28 years. He has had the experience of training in various martial arts under the guidance of SAIKO SHIHAN RON YAMANAKA (FOUNDER OF Y.K.K.F. - INTERNATIONAL) 9th Degree Black Belt – Shaolin Chuan Fa , 8th Degree Black Belt Aiki Jujutsu ,8th Degree Black Belt Okinawan Goju Ryu (Jundokan) , Menkyo Kaiden Shindo Ryu Jujutsu & Canadian Chief Instructor (Shibucho) of Okinawan Goju Ryu Jundokan. Sensei Jehangir Shroff has been training in Martial Arts since
1978 under the following teachers : Sensei Shroff has traveled to Canada , Japan , Indonesia , Phillipines , Malaysia , Singapore , Hongkong , Dubai, London & Belguim to take part in training seminars and tournaments. YUDANSHA KOBUJITSU KARATE – DOH FEDERATION (INDIA) i.e. Y.K.K.F. (INDIA) has been established in the year Oct. 1997 and has trained thousands of students in traditional Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate & Judo/ Jujitsu. Y.K.K.F.(India) teaches three different aspects of martial arts namely physical , intellectual and mental. Along with the physical training we also teach history of Goju Ryu, awareness of other martial arts and Japanese terminology. Within Y.K.K.F.(India) there are 3 distinct martial arts namely : 4. KICKBOXING & KRAV MAGA Y.K.K.F. (INDIA) is also a member of MAHARASHTRA KARATE ASSOCIATION (MKA) and affiliated to ALL INDIA KARATE – DO FEDERATION (A.I.K.F.) which is recognised by GOVT. of Feb.- Mar. 04 , is the Martial Arts Training Programme which was conducted
by Giovanni Di Meglio Shihan , 6th Degree Kyoshi , Y.K.K.F. World President &
Sensei Diego Gruer , 3rd Degree Black Belt , Technical Director Y.K.K.F.(Italy).
The training which was imparted consisted of Physical training , Kihon , Kata
, Bunkai and self defence techniques. Jr. & Sr. Black belts were imparted
special training in Sanchin Kata and other katas with different levels of bunkai.
More than 350 students participated in this martial arts training programme ,
which was a great success for Y.K.K.F. (India). IT IS OUR GOAL HERE AT THE Y.K.K.F. (INDIA) DOJOS TO HELP STUDENTS BETTER THEIR HEALTH AND ENHANCE THEIR OVERALL SELF-DEVELOPMENT (CONCENTRATION , CONFIDENCE , SELF-CONTROL , AND SELF-DISCIPLINE) THROUGH PHYSICAL TRAINING AND MENTAL DISCIPLINE USING TRADITIONAL MARTIAL ARTS.
